Connected herbometer and decision support tool for precise pasture management
Precision grazing with connected herbometry and decision tools
or
Detail description
Tangi Tréhen's farm in Les Oiseaux demonstrates how connected herbometry and decision-support tools like Grass Hopper® and Herbavenir® enable precise pasture management. After installing a milking robot, pasture use initially dropped to 10 hectares, increasing feed costs. By expanding grazing to over 45 ares per cow and using mechanical then electronic herbometers, he optimized grass quality and utilization. Supported by training and practices from Brittany and Ireland, he now reduces feeding costs and workload through data-driven grazing. His advice: start simply and seek expert guidance.
