Short Rotation Coppice for Regional Biorefineries in Occitanie

Short rotation coppices for biomass energy and green chemistry in Mediterranean conditions

or

Detail description

This project assessed the productivity, yield, and quality of short-rotation coppice species—eucalyptus, black locust, willow, poplar, and polownia—across four Mediterranean sites (Alenya, Alzonne, Narbonne, Ferrels) from 2008 to 2010. It generated agronomic and economic data, evaluated wood chip production for energy and green chemistry, and explored using greenhouse effluent for heating. Field visits in 2016 documented harvesting and grinding, and species sheets were created for black locust and eucalyptus. The project addressed the lack of regional data on TCR in Mediterranean conditions.
