Improvement of hens’ health and wellbeing with BSF feed inclusion
Improving hen health and wellbeing through black soldier fly-based feed innovations
or
Detail description
This study evaluates the impact of Black Soldier Fly (BSF) products on hen health, behavior, and wellbeing. Blood markers for liver-kidney function, protein, albumin, glucose, cholesterol, triglycerides, and electrolytes showed no significant differences between hens fed with and without BSF, indicating no adverse physiological effects. Live BSF larvae improved wellbeing and reduced mortality rates. Recommended inclusion rates are 3–5% of dry matter for optimal health and nutritional balance.
