Anti-Frost IoT System for Fruit and Horticultural Crops

Tractor-mounted IoT system with wireless sensors for real-time frost monitoring and automated protection in orchards

or

Detail description

This project develops an IoT-based anti-frost system for fruit and horticultural crops under the Agriculture 4.0 framework. It integrates a tractor-mounted heating unit with an ICT system for real-time air temperature monitoring and frost warning alerts. Wireless, battery-powered sensors cover up to 4.5 km radius, detecting micro-frost events and temperature variations. The system recommends optimal protection routes, ensuring efficient frost management across orchards. Designed for multi-season operation, it supports continuous monitoring and timely intervention. Funded by the European Union and accessible via EU-FarmBook.
