Reducing Calf Mortality and Improving Fattening Through Innovation
Improving calf rearing and final fattening through innovative health, welfare, and efficiency systems in collaboration with dairy farmers
or
Detail description
This project develops innovative solutions for calf breeding and final fattening to reduce calf mortality to 5% in rearing and 2% in fattening, limit antibiotic use, and improve production efficiency. It enhances cooperation among dairy farmers and suppliers, promotes cow vaccination, and implements monitoring systems for animal welfare and microclimate. Innovations include health and welfare tracking, climate control, specialized feeding agents, and supply chain optimization. The project supports 10 enterprises with standardized practices, guidelines, and popular-science publications, all backed by the European Union via EU-FarmBook.
