Detail description

Satu Kumpulainen leads Isokummunluomu Ltd., an organic sheep farm in Finland offering nature and animal-assisted therapy for people with learning disabilities and mental health needs. As a fifth-generation farmer, she transitioned the farm to organic practices in 2006 and launched Green Care services in 2013 following a lecture on the subject. The farm is the first in Finland to earn the nature care quality label and is dedicated to preserving Indigenous Finnish sheep breeds and traditional rural biotopes. It produces organic meat and wool. Satu has been recognized with multiple awards, including Organic Entrepreneur of the Year and Agricultural Producer of the Year. She has also contributed to youth camp initiatives and collaborates with local schools in Sievijärvi. Funded by the European Union.
