Promotion of multifunctional olive systems in the Mediterranean to enhance sustainable olive cultivation through agroforestry practices, addressing water scarcity and desertification. Integrates trees with crops or livestock to improve soil fertility, reduce evaporation, and support biodiversity. Supported by the EU-funded LIVINGAGRO project (ENI CBC Med), which facilitates knowledge transfer, innovation in intercropping (e.g., *Vicia* spp.), and avocado integration. In Greece, 700,000 hectares of olive groves support agroforestry, including 124,300 hectares for grazing. Objectives include improving market access, value addition via fair trade and ecotourism, awareness, training, and policy support.
