Mobile Confectionery in Germany: Women Innovators in Wetterau

Mobile bakery bringing artisanal treats from local farms to markets across Wetterau

or

Detail description

Nanetta Ruf runs KondiTOURei, Germany’s first mobile bakery based in the Wetterau region. Her 26-tonne truck houses an 18m² bakery, office, sleeping area, and toilet. She transforms organic farm produce from within a 150-km radius into artisanal goods like cakes in jars, tartelets, jams, and spiced treats for farm shops and direct marketers. Inspired by mobile dairies and butcher shops, the service enables local producers to expand their offerings without major investment, boosting their appeal as visitor destinations. Funded by the European Union, the project highlights sustainable rural entrepreneurship and serves as a role model for women in food innovation.
