Detail description

Kylemore Farmhouse Cheese, based in Kylemore Abbey, Co. Galway, is a premium, handmade, grass-fed cheese produced on a sustainable, closed-herd dairy farm. Founded by Teresa Roche after 15 years as a nurse abroad, the on-farm cheese unit was established in 2017 with LEADER funding under the EU Rural Development Programme. The entire production process, from milk to maturing, occurs on the farm. The cheese is traceable, Bord Bia Origin Green approved, and available through a farm shop and online. The business also offers educational tours and won the 2022 Sustainable Rural Innovation Award, highlighting its commitment to sustainable food production and farm efficiency.
