Individual Livestock Traceability for Hungarian Cattle Meat

Traceability and consumer information system for indigenous Hungarian cattle across the meat supply chain

or

Detail description

This project develops a traceability system for indigenous Hungarian cattle, enabling individual animal tracking from pasture to table. It integrates advanced sensing and data processing to monitor key meat quality factors—such as water loss, cooling, transport, and ripening humidity—across the entire production chain. Consumers receive detailed product information via QR codes on labels, including breed, sex, pedigree, birth date, breeder and owner details, and processing parameters. The system supports mobile access and complies with EIP-Agri standards, with findings shared through an online knowledge base and methodological guidelines for farms and processors. Funded by the European Union via EU-FarmBook.
