Terunic Project: Boosting Regional Protein Autonomy

The TERUNIC project is a territorial, multidisciplinary initiative under the SOS PROTEIN program, focusing on increasing protein self-sufficiency in western French agriculture. It brings together agronomists, economists, livestock advisors, cooperatives, and agricultural organizations to analyze and quantify the economic and territorial impacts of key levers—such as protein-rich crop production and improved nitrogen digestibility in livestock. The project assesses strategies across the region, involving key actors from research, farming, and regional institutions.
