Training Forest Operators in Carbon-Enhancing Silvicultural Techniques
Training forest operators in silvicultural techniques to enhance carbon sequestration and biodiversity in high forest management
or
Detail description
This project trained forest operators in advanced silvicultural techniques—such as selective harvesting, thinning, and conversion to high forest—to enhance carbon sequestration and biodiversity. Conducted on-site within the OG CO2S.Fo.Ma initiative, the training enabled operators to implement additionality-focused interventions, ensuring environmental benefits would not occur without the project. The hands-on approach built self-sufficiency in the project area and prepared operators for future regional projects. Participants reported expanded technical skills, contributing to improved sustainable forest management and increased carbon stock growth.
