Growing Stock Volume Map for Forest Management in Tuscany

Forest mapping of Growing Stock Volume (m³/ha) at 23 m resolution across Tuscany, Italy, supports sustainable forest management and operational planning. Generated using open Landsat data and National Forest Inventory records, the high-resolution map reduces reliance on costly field surveys. Designed for small forest owners and companies, it enables economic evaluation and logging site selection through an interactive Decision Support System. The platform allows users to draw or upload polygons to extract reports and geographic data, enhancing decision-making. Developed under the SURF programme and part of the FOREST4EU initiative, this service is led by UNIFI and provides accessible, accurate data for improved forest management.
