Comment suivre les variations d'efficience alimentaire des vaches pendant la lactation ?

Dynamic RFI estimation for improved feed efficiency monitoring in dairy cows across lactation stages

or

Detail description

This study presents a dynamic method for monitoring feed efficiency in dairy cows during lactation using a continuously updated Residual Feed Intake (RFI) model. By integrating weekly data on feed intake, body weight, milk yield, and body condition, the approach captures evolving biological performance across lactation stages. Unlike traditional RFI calculations based on fixed coefficients, this method enables real-time, phase-specific RFI estimation, improving accuracy and supporting targeted genetic selection. The model reveals individual RFI trajectories, highlighting the need for tailored animal types in breeding programs.
