Whole-house gassing for broiler depopulation in poultry outbreaks

Gazage intérieur du bâtiment pour dépeuplement rapide en cas d'épidémie aviaire

or

Detail description

The BroilerNet project documents best practices for on-site gas killing of broiler flocks in case of urgent depopulation due to disease outbreaks. This method, recommended under Regulation (EC) No 1099/2009, ensures rapid and safe euthanasia by injecting CO2 into sealed poultry houses to prevent virus spread. It is particularly effective for large flocks or heavy birds in confined housing. The process requires specialized equipment, airtight sealing of doors, vents, and fans, and trained personnel. Insufficient sealing leads to gas leakage and incomplete euthanasia. GT Logistique is the official French provider for such operations.
