Detail description
This low-cost, electric power-free soil moisture control valve uses a p(MMA-NAT) 11 hydrogel with 2% w/w cellulose to autonomously regulate water flow. Tested under varying soil moisture conditions, the actuator demonstrated stable performance over 100 cycles and successfully controlled irrigation in a white calla lily. Developed under the Smart Farming Thematic Network, the system offers a sustainable, mechanically driven solution for precision irrigation.
