Predicting legume-grass sward biomass using ultrasonic and spectral sensors

Ultrasonic and spectral sensing for biomass estimation in clover-ryegrass swards

or

Detail description

Biomass of clover-ryegrass mixtures was assessed using ultrasonic sward height measurements and spectral-radiometric reflections. The study, published in Computers and Electronics in Agriculture (Frick, T.; Wachendorf, M., 2013, DOI:10.1016/j.compag.2013.10.004), combines ultrasonic sensing with spectral data to predict biomass in legume-grass swards. Part of the Smart AKIS Smart Farming Thematic Network, funded by the EU’s Horizon 2020 programme, the resource includes thermal imagery and details on field operations, target users (farmers, contractors), education level (apprenticeship or technical school), farm size (50–100 ha), and geographical scope (EU, NUTS level).
