issue 6 - progress of the project
The first step in this approach was to conduct a survey in the SheepNet partner countries to identify the current problems constraining European sheep productivity. The results of this survey identified a list of needs that are restricting flock productivity. The issues identified ranged from nutrition and health-related practices to facility management and advanced lambing preparation. Similar problems were identified across Europe, although the order of importance of these problems varied in order of importance. To address these problems, SheepNet produced 42 solutions and 72 practical recommendations (tips & tricks) to assist in the implementation of the solutions. These solutions have also been evaluated by livestock producers to assess their benefit and ease of implementation in order to improve their application and dissemination across Europe.
