Monitoring techniques such as drone-based hyperspectral imaging, pheromone traps, and remote data access are central to the SmartProtect project’s SMART Integrated Pest Management solutions for vegetable crops. These tools support real-time decision-making, enhance early detection of pests and diseases, and reduce reliance on chemical plant protection. The project, funded by the EU Horizon 2020 programme (grant No. 862563), develops decision support systems for sustainable farming, with findings and tools shared under a Creative Commons BY license.
