Small-scale orchards face unprofitable returns through traditional channels. 'My AppleTree' enables direct-to-consumer sales, empowering farmers with better pricing and customer engagement. Consumers gain transparency into food origins. The model is scalable across crops and regions, supported by COCOREADO, a Horizon 2020 project (2021–2024) led by LUT University. It strengthens farmers’ roles in innovative food supply chains and public procurement through multi-actor collaboration, focusing on ambassadorship, best practices, and youth engagement in AKIS.
