Lokalny Rolnik: Connecting Farmers and Consumers for Local Food

Connecting farmers and consumers for local, healthy, organic food in Poland since 2013

or

Detail description

Lokalny Rolnik is a Polish platform founded in 2013 that connects local farmers and food artisans directly with consumers, promoting access to fresh, organic, and locally sourced food. The platform serves 120,000 customers through a network of local action groups that organize pick-up points in major Polish cities. Farmers set their own prices and retain up to 80% of the sale, while the platform covers only marketing and logistics costs, sharing risks. This model strengthens farmers’ position in the food chain, enhances food literacy, and supports community resilience. It is scalable and replicable in regions with strong consumer demand and farmer networks. The initiative is part of the COCOREADO project (Horizon 2020, grant No 101000573), which promotes agricultural innovation and youth engagement in food systems.
