PLNT: Vertical Farming for Sustainable Local Food
Pioneering vertical farm delivering locally grown herbs and microgreens with sustainable, transparent supply chains
or
Detail description
PLNT is a vertical farm producing high-quality herbs and microgreens in stacked layers using controlled environments. It delivers locally grown, sustainable food directly to urban consumers, shortening the supply chain and enhancing farmers' market power. The farm prioritises environmental responsibility, transparency, and customer engagement, including feedback loops and sustainable substrate use. Part of the Horizon 2020 COCOREADO project (2021–2024), PLNT advances urban agriculture in Europe by strengthening farmer-led innovation and youth involvement in sustainable food systems.
