Sustainable food procurement standard certificate

or

Detail description

This report wants to investigate whether any untapped potential in harnessing standards, certifications, and labelling as tools within procurement processes exists, and whether it could present a viable way to elevate the stature of small-scale farmers within the food supply chain. By integrating specific standards and certifications into public procurement policies, wherein being a small-scale farmer becomes an advantageous position, governments could create a more transparent, sustainable, and equitable food system. This approach not only aids in making the sourcing process more discernible and aligned with the EU's Farm to Fork strategy's goals for sustainability but also offers small-scale farmers a tangible means to differentiate and elevate their products in the market. The report will commence by offering a deep dive into standards, certification, and labelling.
