Anaerobic soil disinfestation (ASD): benefits and limitations

Anaerobic soil disinfestation effectively controls soil-borne pathogens, pests, and weeds in agricultural systems

or

Detail description

Anaerobic soil disinfestation (ASD) is an effective, chemical-free method for controlling soil-borne pathogens, pests, and weeds. It reduces Fusarium oxysporum, Rhizoctonia solani, Verticillium dahliae, and other harmful organisms, with high efficacy on light soils. The process involves incorporating organic matter, wetting the soil, and covering with a virtually impermeable film (VIF). Supported by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Programme (grant agreement no 817696), ASD offers sustainable soil management for agriculture.
