SUPER-G Factsheet Overseeding

Enhancing sward productivity and biodiversity through targeted grassland seeding techniques

or

Detail description

Permanent grassland overseeding and slot seeding improve sward productivity and biodiversity by introducing legumes and deep-rooting species. Techniques include broadcasting or drilling seeds into slots, enhancing nitrogen fixation (150–300 kg N/ha/year), reducing synthetic fertilizer use, and lowering greenhouse gas emissions. Ideal for increasing forage quality, drought resilience, and nutrient uptake. Best applied in late summer, autumn, or early spring with 2–5 species mixtures tailored to local conditions, requiring 40% bare soil exposure.
