Barley Yellow Dwarf Virus Decision Support System

Second-generation aphid emergence and BYDV risk prediction using T-sum method

or

Detail description

Barley and cereal yellow dwarf virus (BYDV) is a major threat to wheat and barley, transmitted by aphids that colonise plants and spread during the second generation. The DSS on platform.ipmdecisions.net predicts the second aphid generation using T-sum (accumulated degree-days above 3°C). At 170 DD, the risk of infestation increases. Users must input crop emergence and last insecticide date. If no aphids are found at 170 DD or after treatment, the calculation restarts.
