The Mushrooms of Borgotaro IGP

Online platform for sustainable wild mushroom picking permits in Borgotaro, Italy

or

Detail description

The "Mushrooms of Borgotaro IGP" are harvested in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, where chestnut and beech coppice forests have been sustainably managed for centuries. The Consorzio Comunale Parmense (CCP) has launched an online platform to digitise recreational mushroom picking permits, improving access, distribution, and safety for pickers. The system enables online purchases, provides interactive forest maps for navigation, and targets younger users. This innovation supports sustainable forest use and is part of the SINCERE initiative for forest ecosystem services.
