Detaljeret beskrivelse
The paper investigates winter grazing innovations in suckler‐herd systems by combining experimental trials and farmer surveys. Sheep of two genetic types (Mouton Vendéen and Romane) were monitored for production and welfare under different grazing practices. For cattle, the impact of adding an Out Wintering Pad (OWP) to winter grazing was assessed for grassland preservation. Grass quality and quantity dynamics were recorded, and surveys explored emerging on‐farm innovations. Results show that both sheep and cattle can maintain performance on extended grazing, that an OWP helps protect pastures, and that farmers seek solid evidence of grassland potential.
