Diversifying the CTPS Trial Network for Improved Characterization of Soft Wheat Varietal Adaptation to High Environmental Performance Cropping Systems

This text reports on diversifying the CTPS evaluation network to better assess the adaptation of soft wheat varieties under high environmental performance cropping systems by identifying key biotic and abiotic limiting factors and testing low-input protocols.

Podrobný popis

In France, the CTPS variety registration system evaluates soft wheat candidates under two standard treatments—fully fungicide-treated (T) and non-treated (NT)—across diverse pedoclimatic contexts. Over three years, this study first classified agroclimatic environments by modeling yield potential and biotic/abiotic stresses using Agrobox and soil data from 312 stations. It then assessed the representativeness of current CTPS trials and introduced a coordinated low‐input farming (BNI) protocol to simulate more realistic multiple limiting factors. The aim was to evaluate varietal performance under reduced inputs and refine environmental performance descriptors for catalogue registration.
