The study describes the 'Manure' project aimed at optimizing the use of livestock effluents for crop fertilization through improved knowledge of their composition and field behavior. It first analyzes the diversity of effluent types and identifies shortcomings in current references. Then it details two innovative approaches: a predictive modelling framework that links barn systems and storage conditions to chemical composition, and the use of near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) for rapid, non-destructive estimation of key biochemical parameters. New reference datasets were generated for both raw and treated effluents, providing enhanced inputs for decision-support tools to refine fertilization practices and environmental evaluations.
