Detalizēts apraksts

In response to market volatility and quota removal, the GENESYS program investigates the dual levers of genetics and herd management to increase dairy farm flexibility. It refines genetic evaluation by modeling herd x test day effects and classifies farm management profiles based on these effects. The program also examines genotype x environment interactions across dairy traits nationwide and conducts experimental studies on Holstein and Normande breeds under contrasting feeding regimes, revealing breed-specific adaptability and reproductive challenges. Finally, it assesses the rising use of dairy crossbreeding in France as a strategy to mitigate fertility issues.
