Detail description
In the Prospem project, partners from research, agricultural development and natural space management collaborated to construct and assess forward-looking scenarios for pastoral livestock systems across four Mediterranean territories. After characterizing regional husbandry contexts and selecting representative farm types, local experts defined possible evolution routes. The paper focuses on a specialized meat sheep system typical of the southern Causses, subjecting it to two contrasting scenarios. It also summarizes findings on territory-wide and technical-economic optimization scenarios. Local feedback workshops generated debates, new scenario ideas and further research needs. The study discusses the overall prospective multi-actor approach and its implementation conditions.
