This document outlines improvements to the monitoring and warning system for leek and brassica crops in Flanders, Belgium. Key updates include adding overwintering leek to monitoring, optimizing cabbage aphid tracking, and reintroducing moth pheromone trapping for cabbage moth. The system, operational since February 2019, involves farmers and practical research centers (Inagro, LPG, SKW DPC) to enhance data quality and response efficiency. Trips remain the primary pest in leek, especially under dry, hot conditions where control efficacy decreases. Molybdenum deficiency symptoms are increasingly observed and may be confused with cabbage moth damage; research into nutrient uptake during drought is ongoing. The system supports integrated pest management (IPM) through coordinated field monitoring and data reporting.
