The SENSORREG project enhances water efficiency in Catalonia’s wine sector through digital technologies, addressing water scarcity and reducing the 720-liter water footprint per bottle. By integrating soil sensors, plant stress monitoring, and satellite data, the project enables precision irrigation, optimizes water use, and maintains grape quality. Focused on the Terra Alta and Maresme regions, it validates “Saturs” technology for real-time plant water status assessment, supports microclimatic vineyard sectorization, and automates irrigation via algorithms. Funded by the EU and regional bodies, the initiative promotes sustainable viticulture, energy savings, and climate resilience, aligning with Industry 4.0 principles. Outcomes will be shared via INNOVI.cat and social media.
