Practice abstract of GO Rational and Prudent Use of Antibiotics in Porcine Production

The final objective is the rationalization and reduction of the use of antibiotics in pig production in Castilla y León (Spain), through the characterization of the main bacterial diseases associated with this consumption, the study of antimicrobial resistance in digestive and respiratory pathogens, and the proposal and validation of new strategies for the control of these diseases. For this purpose, the Operational Group includes the main pig production companies in Castilla y León, located in Burgos, Segovia, Soria, Valladolid and Zamora, which represent around 90% of the pig census in the region.
