Conversion to full grazing on a German dairy farm

Dairy farm in Bremervörde, Germany, transitioned to full-grazing with seasonal autumn calving to improve climate resilience, reduce costs, and enhance animal welfare. The system lowers feed and machinery expenses, maintains stable economic performance despite slight milk yield reduction, and reduces environmental impact. Supported by the Climate Farm Demo project, the farm demonstrates climate-efficient practices, with ongoing adaptation of cattle genetics for better grazing suitability. Knowledge sharing at events promotes individualised climate efficiency strategies among farmers.
