The ODACE tool. Supporting the reduction in the use of plant protection products in apple orchards
Agronomic Innovations 110 (2026), 69–80
Detail description
Reducing the use of plant protection products (PPPs) in agriculture is a major challenge. To meet this challenge, stakeholders in the sector need tools to help them devise crop management strategies that are less reliant on PPPs. The ODACE tool, developed for the apple-growing sector, is a user-friendly and interactive interface that offers users various alternative scenarios to their current practices, selected from a wide range of options, taking into account their production context, their preferences and/or constraints in terms of agricultural practices and performance. The tool’s operation is first described, explaining in particular the methods used to select the alternative scenarios, and its use is then illustrated using a case study.
