Innovative bioeconomy cooperative driving olive by-product valorisation in Spain
or
Detail description
This cooperative in Spain drives bioeconomy innovation by valorising olive by-products across 400,000 hectares, processing 2 million tonnes annually. It supports 100,000+ farmers and 240 mills through eight industrial sites in Andalusia, producing crude pomace oil, energy, and high-value bioproducts. The model enables full circular use of biomass, with members as owners and beneficiaries. Funded by Horizon 2020, it exemplifies sustainable, technology-driven agricultural innovation.
