Control and prevention of sheep gastrointestinal parasites during grazing

Controllo e prevenzione delle parassitosi gastrointestinali negli ovini al pascolo

or

Detail description

Sheep grazing in Italian hilly and mountainous regions faces high risk of gastrointestinal nematode (GIN) and parasite (GIP) infestations due to transhumance. Chemical treatments are increasingly ineffective and harm biodiversity and food chain safety. Non-chemical strategies like rotational grazing, multi-species grazing, and improved flock resilience are effective alternatives. FLOTAC® microscopy enables accurate parasite load monitoring, supporting sustainable pasture management and reducing reliance on drugs.
