The MOPS project enhanced organic horticulture in Ireland by supporting 11 growers in developing sustainable cropping systems. It focused on green manure trials using mixes like ryegrass/phacelia and clover/ryegrass to reduce reliance on imported nutrients. The project included crop planning reviews, soil and crop sampling, and market research to boost demand in the retail sector. Coordinated by the Irish Organic Association in Athlone, it operated from 2018 to 2021 with a €597,416 budget under the Rural Development 2014–2020 programme.
