TheGreefa Greenhouse System Reduces Energy Use

Defossilising agriculture through innovative greenhouse climate control using thermochemical fluids and air recirculation

or

Detail description

TheGreefa project develops a sustainable greenhouse system that reduces energy use by recirculating air and recovering heat from humid air via a thermochemical fluid. This eliminates traditional window-based humidity control, cutting thermal losses. Led by Serena Danesi at ZHAW (Switzerland), the EU-funded initiative (€4M of €4.6M) runs from October 2020 to May 2024 with 11 partners across Switzerland, Spain, Germany, and Poland. Focused on defossilising agriculture, the project enables fossil-fuel-free farming through innovative climate control. Visit thegreefa.eu or follow on X and LinkedIn.
