MOVING Project – Innovation and Infrastructure for Resilient Mountain Value Chains

Supporting sustainable value chains through innovation and infrastructure in mountain regions

or

Detail description

MOVING project explores how innovation and infrastructure—such as roads, digital networks, processing plants, and storage—can strengthen sustainable and resilient value chains in mountain regions. The research focuses on challenges in Hungary, Italy, Portugal, Switzerland, and Turkey, examining how infrastructure quality, digitalisation, and innovation impact value chain performance. It identifies structural barriers to investment, technology adoption, and efficiency, while also assessing social innovations like cooperatives that support green transitions. The study highlights the role of education, connectivity, and capital in building long-term resilience. Findings expected November 2023. Led by ZHAW researchers Anna Geiser, Carmen Forrer, and Gianna Lazzarini.
