MOVING Project: Mountain Value Chains Analysis

Mountain value chains in 23 European regions enhance resilience and sustainability by leveraging local assets like natural resources, expertise, and community cohesion. This analysis, based on the VCA4D framework, traces economic, environmental, and socio-cultural value creation from production to market. It highlights how distant processing and distribution stages reduce local economic returns and influence. The MOVING project supports relocalisation and empowers mountain communities through stakeholder engagement and local knowledge, countering data gaps with expert insights.
