FireFlocks Project: Prescribed Grazing for Wildfire Risk Reduction in Catalonia

FireFlocks promotes prescribed grazing in Catalonia, Spain, to reduce large forest fire risks. The project supports farmers in managing 72,000 hectares since 2016, targeting Strategic Fire Management Points to limit fire spread. It links shepherds with fire risk reduction, enhances rural bioeconomy, and certifies high-value meat and dairy products as ecosystem services.
