El objetivo principal en dotar a los apicultores de la Región de Murcia de unas mejoras en sus granjas de abejas para la producción de una miel que sirva de materia prima para el desarrollo de azúcar natural a partir de miel, jalea y propóleo (perlas de miel y azúcar de miel) con propiedades saludables, que pueda suponer un sustitutivo de los azúcares derivados de la caña y remolacha, de acuerdo a las recomendaciones de la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS).
